Why Didn't Soulja Boy Shoot His New Video Here?
Atlanta rapper DeAndre Cortez Way, better known by his stage name Soulja Boy Tell 'Em or just Soulja Boy, was charged with obstruction after running from police despite an order to stop, a police spokesman said Friday.
The 19-year-old singer was among a large group that had gathered at a home in Stockbridge, 20 miles south of Atlanta, said Henry County, Georgia, police Capt. Jason Bolton.
Way was arrested Wednesday night along with another man, Bolton said. Police said Way left jail Thursday after posting a $550 bond.

Leave your load at home
In an effort to cut costs and promote 'greener travel' Japan Airlines has begun a trial campaign to encourage its passengers to pack lighter luggage and to use the bathroom before boarding the plane. The airline hopes that fewer in-flight trips to the loo will result in fewer carbon emissions as well as less fuel used to fly around the approximately 1 L a full adult bladder can hold. No word on the energy savings brought by empty colons; just leave your load at home.

The Recipient of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize is.....
For one of America's youngest presidents, in office less than nine months — and only for 12 days before the Nobel nomination deadline last February — it was an enormous honor.
The prize seems to be more for Obama's promise than for his performance. The Nobel committee cited as his key accomplishment "a new climate in international politics." The president has become "the world's leading spokesman" for its agenda, the committee said. The Nobel committee, it seems, had the audacity to hope that he'll eventually produce a record worthy of its prize.

Kwame still messin up y'all...
Wayne County Circuit Court Judge David Groner today ruled in favor of a discovery motion forcing former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to disclose his assets within 10 days.
Kilpatrick has until Oct. 16 to disclose any assets held by himself, his wife or a third party for his benefit. He'll also have to provide salary information and disclose any gifts he may have received.
After serving 99 days in prison, Kilpatrick moved to the Dallas area after taking a job with Compuware subsidiary Covisint. Recent news reports suggest he's living comfortably, renting a million dollar home and driving a new Cadillac Escalade.

Thousands of people showed up at Cobo Arena and outside neighborhood centers in Detroit Tuesday to get free stimulus money being offered to only 3,500 of the city's recently or soon to be homeless. The line around the downtown convention center started forming well before daybreak. Anger flared within a few hours as more people sought out a dwindling number of applications for the program. Members of the Detroit Police Department's Gang Squad and other tactical units were called in for crowd control. Check the news clip for details...

Chris Rock's NEXT Film is a Oprah Collabo
Chris Rock will star in a new film about a white man's amusing attempts to make an African-American friend, reports Variety.
The movie is based on a GQ magazine article, "Will You Be My Black Friend?" in which writer Devin Freidman - a white man in his mid-30's - chronicled how he tried to befriend a black man by placing an ad on Craig's List.
"Admitting that you count your black friends is a violation of the Unracist White Person Magna Carta," wrote Freidman. "It was possible at the time, we could have a black president and still not have a very mixed country." "But really, I couldn't handle walking around knowing that I have the same number of black friends as George W. Bush."
Published in GQ's November 2008 issue, the article is an eye-opening, if somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at race relations. Harpo Films, Oprah Winfrey's (who is also considered to be a pseudo-white friend to many in her audience) production company, partnered with movie studio Lionsgate to buy the rights to the story and make it a star vehicle for Rock. Is Rock planning to play the white dude?

BET Plans Michael Vick Docu-Show
Michael Vick is out of jail, back in an NFL uniform and trying to rebuild his image. He's having a hard time though because Americans really love their dogs and hate people who abuse them.
But in an effort to show people that he's a changed man, Vick will be launching a new reality show on BET in January. It's called 'The Michael Vick Project,' and the 8-part show will attempt to focus on his re-assimilation into his NFL life, while looking at his past troubles and how he's rectifying them today.
"I just want people to really get to know me as an individual," Vick told the L.A. Times. "I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.

Tyler Perry's House of Pain
Filmmaker Tyler Perry, who is promoting a new movie about an abused teenager, has gone public with brutal memories of his own childhood beatings and molestation.
In an email to fans that has Perry's admirers buzzing, he recounts various examples of terrible childhood mistreatment - from his father beating him senseless to a neighbor woman molesting him at age 10.
Even his grandmother, the mother of his hated father, became a threat when she objected to his weekly allergy shot, he recalls. "Ain't nothing wrong with that damn boy - he just got germs on him. Stop wasting all that money," she said, he recalled.
"She came and got me out of the living room leaving my Matchbox cars on the floor. She said she was going to kill these germs on me once and for all. She gave me a bath in ammonia."
Perry, 38, fled his abusive home in New Orleans and, after a period of homelessness and struggle, became a writer, director, actor and producer. He is now a mega-millionaire and one of the world's most influential black filmmakers. He is the producer of "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" on TV and his movies, including "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," "Madea's Family Reunion" and "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" have grossed $400 million.
Along with Oprah Winfrey, he executive produced "Precious," the story of an illiterate obese teen mom struggling to rise above horrible sexual and mental abuse. The movie opens nationally Nov. 6.
Perry has made no secret of his unhappy childhood and speaks often of his abusive father, but the raw details in his email were new revelations.
"I'm tired of holding this in. I don't know what to do with it anymore, so, I've decided to give some of it away," he wrote in Saturday's email, which was also posted on his website.
He recounted being beaten by his father for reading books and filching cookies."He got the vacuum cleaner extension cord and trapped me in a room and beat me until the skin was coming off my back. To this day, I don't know what would make a person do something like that to a child," Perry wrote.
Terrie Williams, author of "Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting," praised Perry for sharing his old misery."When someone like Tyler Perry posts this kind of personal message it helps to free others," Williams said.

Only in Fla: Pensacola officer runs over, kills suspect during chase
A Pensacola police officer was placed on administrative leave Saturday after his cruiser ran over and killed a bicyclist he was pursuing. Pensacola Police Department Chief John W. Mathis said Officer Jerald Ard, 35, had been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
According to a Saturday afternoon news release, Ard saw a suspicious man in a construction site about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, while he was on routine patrol near Cervantes and T streets.
The man left the scene on a bicycle and Ard pursued, attempting to stop him using verbal commands and blue police lights, the release said. The officer also tried unsuccessfully to shock the fleeing man with a Taser stun gun, according to the release. After the Taser was fired, the man turned into the parking lot of a vacant business near R Street, crashed his bicycle, and was run over by the pursuing police car, according to the release.
The man, identified as 17 year old Victor Steen, was pinned beneath the car during the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wii Can't Wait!
In a recent interview with Billborad magazine Beyonce gave the answer to the following question:
Q: What else is on your to-do list?
A: I'm interested in a lot of different things. I'd like to get involved in videogames since I really love Wii Fit. I think it would be a great idea to incorporate choreography because for me my workout is way more fun when it involves dancing as opposed to running on a boring treadmill. So I would love to do some kind of fitness game but incorporate dance and performance into it. I think a lot of women would enjoy that.
I also want to continue to produce films -- even if I'm not in them -- as well as a documentary on my life. Actually, I'd like to do a film loosely based on my father's (Mathew Knowles) childhood and school years. He's had an interesting life. But that will probably be in a couple of years.
Perhaps, that's a good idea for her Nitendo game...call it "WHO DAT IZ?" for the WII FIT based on her father's baby mama escapades...

I've got (s)hoes in different area codes
Nashville is talking about Steve McNair's tricking and treating again. A Nashville area property management company has begun legal proceedings against the estate of the former Tennessee Titan for unpaid rent. Apparently, McNair co-signed on an apartment for yet another mistress. The woman had the utilities in her own name, but relied on on McNair to foot the bill. When he was shot by his emotionally disturbed mistress Shahel Kazemi, the cash flow was cut off. The surviving mistress moved out abruptly in August and never paid July's rent. The management company is seeking payment of the remainder of the lease as well as other damages.

Good Hair might not be so good for Chris Rock
Chris Rock on Jay Leno
Faster than you can say "red carpet" someone has slapped a lawsuit on Chris Rock for his film "Good Hair." Chris and Nia Long have been hitting the talk show and magazine circuit to hheavily promote the documentary about the complicated relationship between Black women and their hair. A woman named Regina Kimbell claims she screened her documentary "My Nappy Roots" for Chris on the set of his television show "Everyone Hates Chris." Kimbell's film features (unnamed) celebrities discussing the evolution of various hairstyles throughout the Black community. Kimbell claims Chris co-opted her idea which won her the Best Documentary award at the Black Hollywood Film Festival in 2007. She is seeking at least $5 million in damages. In his defense, Chris has been telling interviewers he was inspired to do the film after conversations he had with his young daughter.

I Believe I Can't Read
R&B singer/songwriter R. Kelly revealed that despite his musical talents, he suffers from illiteracy and barely made it through grade school. The Grammy winner recently spoke at the Midwest Music Festival in Chicago, about the trials and tribulations of starting his career.
"When I was trying to make it out here, I already knew, and I was stubborn about it," he said. "I don't even read really and I'm not afraid to say that. My cousins and brothers used to tease me 'you can't even read right. How you think you're going to come up?' The only reason I graduated from grammar school is because I had a great jump shot. I went to high school and [my teacher] told me 'you will one of the greatest writers of all time.' I believed. You [have to] believe it. You can't believe [anything] if you're hating. You can't achieve [anything] if you're hating."
Kandi Burruss' ex-fiance allegedly killed by jealous ex-husband
The female on the left of the picture is Veronica Jones who is allegedly the co-owner of the Body Tap strip club. Her ex-husband Fredrick Richardson fatally injured A.J. Jewell with a beer bottle outside the club on Friday night according to the police. Sandrarose.com claims that Veronica and A.J. embarked on a relationship that may have rubbed Fred the wrong way. A.J. was promoting events at the club and at some point started negotiating to purchase part ownership in the club from Veronica. After Frederick gets checked out of Grady Memorial Hospital, he will be charged voluntary manslaughter.
Braylon Edwards didn't show up Sunday against Bengals
He did show up later however at the View Ultralounge & Nightclub in Cleveland. One of Lebron James '4 Horsemen' clique, Edward Givens said the incident took place outside the club at about 2:30 a.m. Givens said he went to Lutheran Hospital this morning because he suffered a black eye and a cut. He said he also has a headache.
Givens was talking to the suspect outside the club when the suspect started an argument. The suspect then punched Givens with a closed first on the left side of his face. Givens told officers he would seek treatment at Lutheran Hospital.
Givens is a promoter with Eighty81 LLC, an events management and marketing firm that hosts parties on Sundays at View.
In an interview with cleveland.com's Starting Blocks blog this morning, Givens said:
"After the club closed, I was outside greeting and saying goodbye to people. Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me. He said if it wasn't for LeBron (James) or the Four Horsemen, I wouldn't have what I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a problem with LeBron. So I had to speak up for myself. The conversation started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back, he punched me. I have a black eye and a cut. I'm not a violent guy.
"As long as I've known Braylon, I've allowed him and his friends to come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me."
James, who addressed the incident after the Cavaliers' practice, criticized the attack on his friend. He said that he has no relationship with Edwards but has felt that the football player is jealous of his success and is being childish.
Soon after the first altercation police officers broke up another disturbance involving the suspect (Edwards).Simple assault cases are typically not investigated by police. It is up to the victims to file complaints with the city prosecutor or the mayor of East Cleveland.

Meth wrote a check to the taxman...but then he got high...
The Staten Island rapper, actor and producer known as Method Man was tagged with another label Monday: tax cheat.
The 38-year-old Grammy-winning artist, a founding member of the hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan, was arrested for stiffing the tax man out of $32,799.
Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith, is accused of failing to pay New York State income taxes between 2004 and 2007. He faces up to four years in prison, if convicted.
The back story, according to the rapper, is simple.
“Myself, I’m a pothead, it’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else. Sure, [the tax department] sent letters to my house saying, ‘We need this money.’ They started sending them in 2002. Here it is, 2009, and I never paid this s— because I don’t think like that!”

Kandi Burruss offers up some philosophical words of wisdom
I hate to question God but don’t you hate when you feel like somebody was just taken away too soon? I just feel like A.J just had so much more living to do. Not that my Uncle didn’t, don’t get me wrong, but it just don’t feel right that A.J’s TIME is over.
There was so much that he wanted to do. When I spoke to him yesterday I never thought that it would be for the last TIME!...When you loose someone unexpectedly & sudden like we lost A.J there are all these unanswered questions. We didn’t get a chance to spend a little more TIME & make amends. Some of us didn’t get to say or just didn’t say “I love you”. I know I’m sitting here thinking about things I wish I would’ve done differently or things I wish I would’ve said that I’ll never get to do now. When you’re young you automatically assume that you got all the TIME in the world but then something like this happens and you realize that you’re not guaranteed TIME. It brings to life so many sayings that people say like, “Tell them that you love them everyday cuz you may never get to say it again” or “Don’t go to bed mad cuz they may not be here tomorrow”. A lot of young people don’t think about life insurance policies or wills because we think we have so much TIME. That saying TIME is valuable has never been more real to me than it is right now. TIME is way more important than money or tangible things but yet we take it for granted. Please take it from me, treasure the TIME you have with your loved ones & if there are issues or problems make sure you work it out before you run out of TIME….
Much Love,
