Mariah gets an acting award...
Guess it's true what they say when pretty plays ugly, they give you an award...
Mariah Carey's moustache received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in 'Precious' at the Hollywood International Film Festival in Capri. She took home the award for her unglamorous role as a welfare case worker in the film and is poised to get the "Breakthrough" award at the Palm Springs film festival next month. The entire cast is also up for an ensemble SAG award.

Tyra Banks Show Cancelled?
Apparently the show got too expensive for the CW (Warner Bros.) to produce in NYC, noone's picked it up, so they pulled the plug. Of course you already knew she didn't treat her emplyoyees the way Oprah does. This Christmas, the staff got pink slips instead of gifts. Joel McHale must be crying in his Talk Soup.
Jacking for posts...
Natasha Eubanks (first on the left, on the left), founder and CEO of the popular black celebrity blog Young Black and Fabulous, more commonly known as TheYBF.com joins three other young entrepreneurs on the cover of the January 2010 issue of Black Enterprise Magazine.
According to the publication, the blog averages 15 million page views per month, and 2009 revenues for YBF were $1 million – 90 percent of which was generated from advertisers.
(FYI-full disclosure:we are worth like $750 and bag of Dan-Dee pork rinds and get about 1,600 visits per/day-WATCHOUT 2010)
What's Jenna Doin?
So, my daughter's best friend, Jenna's moms gets me on the phone and asks: "Mr. Stimulus, how do you make your COLLARD greens?" I wasn't about to tell her to put her foot in them or ask her if she knows Paula Deen, so I told her to simply go to the canned vegetable isle of the supermarket and get a big can of 'Glory' low-sodium collards. "That's it?", she asked? "That's it."
I haven't heard from them since, so I was assigned the task of taking my teenage daughter to see Sherlock Holmes. If you read any of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books, you'll likely be disappointed. Since I haven't lately, I was entertained.
Holmes and Watson open the movie by fighting their way into a secret ceremony to stop the villainous Lord Blackwood from sacrificing a female victim at an altar. Blackwood is captured and sentenced to be hanged for the five maidens he's already killed, but at the hanging does his best David Blaine impression, survives the hanging and on about the third day seems to rise from the dead and busts out his crypt.
The rest of this movie revolves around Holmes relationship (Victorian bromance) with Watson and visualizes Sherlock's thought processes from how he deducts a case to how he fights an adversary. Whenever Sherlock doesn't have a case to devote himself to he sits up in his room at 221b Baker Street drinking Dr. Watson's eyeball medicine and performing experiments on his farting bulldog.
There is a French version of 'Deebo' from 'Friday', there are Tasers, I can't stand Jude Law but he was an excellent Watson, there are 'Matrix-like' fight scenes, a secret society of powerful men and there's a plan for world domination. Did I say Downey is outstanding and it is refreshing watching an American convincingly play a British icon for a change?
While the movie is rushed like a summer popcorn flick, Sherlock Holmes gets an inverse TWO out of (1 is best, 5 is worse) five theatre chairs.

Kobe Bryant poses for GQ
NBA baller Kobe Bryant took time out of his busy schedule to visit GQ Magazine for a photo shoot. I could have done without the closeup photo; all those contrasting patterns make my head hurt. He definitely got his grown many sexy on in the bottom two pictures. I think he looks dapper in his charcoal suit and hat.
I'm sorry but we cannot make you America's Next Top Talk Show Host
After five years on the air with the Tyra Banks Show, talk show host, model, actress, and producer Tyra Banks has announced she will retire next Spring. Teddy Riley's daughters say he beat them
Photos: The YBF via Egypt
Superproducer Teddy Riley of Blackstreet and formerly of Guy, has been accused by his teenaged daughters of brutally beating them. According to Riley's 18-year-old daughter Taja, Riley became enraged after she and her sister Deja Twittered they do not like his new young girlfriend, who is only a few years older than they. Taja claims he came home and beat them with a Guitar Hero guitar and punched and kicked them before ejecting them from the house. Taja and Deja have filed a restraining order against their father.

The Netherlands will immediately begin use of its 15 full body scanners to analyze passengers flying to the United States. The increased security comes in the wake of Friday's failed attempt by a Nigerian passenger to detonate an explosive device aboard Northwest 253 from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport to Detroit, Michigan. Umar Farouk Abdulmuttallab passed through a security checkpoint which included baggage scanning and a metal detector during his layover in the Netherlands. The full body scanners have not been used there due to privacy objections; the scanners show security personnel the body contours of passengers. Authorities in the Netherlands say they will employ new software that only highlights areas of the body where items are stored, such as pockets.
Tiger is costing you money
Superstar golfer Tiger Woods' sex scandal involving upwards of 17 alleged mistresses may have cost shareholders of the companies he endorsed as much as $12 billion in losses. Research by economics professors Christopher Knittel and Victor Stango of the University of California, Davis, released a study Monday estimating the economic losses of Woods' main sponsors since revelations of his extramarital affairs surfaced around Thanksgiving.
“We estimate that shareholders of Tiger Woods’ sponsors lost $5-12 billion after his car accident, relative to shareholders of firms that Mr. Woods does not endorse,” the researchers wrote, adding that millions of shareholders were affected. Tiger Woods is estimated to earn around $100 million a year through endorsements alone. Many of his sponsors have pulled their endorsement deals in the wake of the scandal.

It's all going up in smoke, so Tiger may as well take advantage
As Tiger Woods' personal and professional life goes up in smoke, an Orlando, Florida-based cigar company has offered him an endorsement deal for their tobacco products. Here is an open letter from their company:
While Corona Cigar Company does not condone Tiger Woods’ extra-marital affairs, there is no denying that Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers of all time. (And let’s not forget all the good that Tiger has done with his generous charitable contributions.)The company has offered Woods a $100,000 endorsement deal. Too bad they don't realize that won't even cover his monthly data plan bill for texting all those women...
We respect the Woods family’s privacy and wish the best for them as they go through this difficult time. With support from the community including local businesses such as Corona Cigar, we hope the healing process may begin.
With that said, we believe that Tiger Woods will soon return to the golf course. Nothing pairs quite as well as enjoying a premium cigar on a golf course. Many of our customers are golf enthusiasts and many golfers are cigar enthusiasts.
We hope Tiger Woods accepts our offer to be the official spokesperson for Corona Cigar Company.

Some folks don't like this photo one bit
Critics are up in arms about a new David LaChappelle photo of Kanye West and Lady Gaga. LaChappelle, an avant-garde photographer best-known for his color-saturated images of celebrities in whimisical situations, shot the duo for the cover of the Fame Monster album. Critics say the photo is racist and depicts a sweating savage African almost sullying the pure white damsel in distress moments after he has plucked her off her pedestal. Some even go so far as to say the photo is reminiscent of images of King Kong and Fay Wray.
Personally, I just wanna know:
1. Why is Gaga naked?
2. Why did they chop off her backside with photoshop?
3.Why isn't SHE sweating?
4. Whose abs those are on Kanye ('cause they sure ain't his)?
AND
5. Where has Amber Rose been hiding? Normally, she would have taken something like this and run with it. Hmmmmmm......

I've found Amber
I spoke too soon about Kanye's consort Amber Rose laying low. She just wrapped up a hot photo shoot for Vibe Magazine. I think the whole thing has attitude, however that top photo with the bowl haircut and the upolstery fabric jacket is a massive fail! Otherwise, Amber is killing it! She looks stunning in white and the bottom picture makes me want to enter the Matrix. (They had the best clothes in those films.)
What's in a name, JiggaMan?
I have no idea if this is true or not, but it makes an interesting story. According to the Daily Star newspaper, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z are planning to legally hyphenate their last names.
The majority of U.S. women still take their husband's last name at marriage, though the custom is waning in popularity in favor of hyphenated last names, the wife keeping her maiden name, and blending last names.
Rather than Beyonce taking on her husband's name after marrying, as is still the custom in the United States, “they want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves,” a source told the publication.
If reports are true, Jay-Z will be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter, while Beyonce is to become Beyonce Knowles-Carter. I'm not really sure how them not having any children of their own will still keep the last name going, but if Jay-Z goes through with this they would definitely be making a strong statement about the balance of power within their relationship. Jay-Z has become a powerful mogul in a world dominated by machisimo and bravado. What are your thoughts on the surname conundrum and how it affects the identity of the couple? Do your opinions change when a couple has children?

Mary J Punches Husband Kendu in the Club
we know you heard about it, here's the raw video of Murry J cracking her husband at the 1:07 mark in the club on Christmas Eve...
"Mary was not fighting with her husband (just smacking him upside the head like all wives do sometimes)," said Blige spokeswoman Karynne Tencer. "Her husband and her brother got into an altercation that turned into a fight (which is not evident in video, which they don't think you'll ever see). Mary went to break up the fight."
Alrightty then, why didn't Murry have her brother thrown out then partied on, Garth?
