Rihanna describes the aftermath of the incident

Gabrielle Union was raped
Gabrielle Union recently opened up to the Global Grind community about a tragic incident from her youth: “When I was 19 years old, I was raped. I was working at a shoe store in California, and the store was robbed. The person robbing the store ended up putting a gun to my head and raping me. As he was raping me, I felt as though I was floating over myself, thinking, ‘This isn’t happening.’ I blanked out and had an out-of-body experience, like I was hovering above seeing this horrible thing happen to someone else…not me. I was fortunate enough to go the UCLA rape crisis center after this horrific ordeal. It gave me my life back. My dignity and self-esteem were gone and they helped me find them again. That’s why I now lobby for state legislatures across the country and the federal government to help raise funds and awareness for rape crisis centers, and I speak to all different kinds of people across the country about what happened to me. My goal is to never hear the words ‘me too’ from someone after I say ‘I was raped.”
BeBe Winans is banned from Oprah for now...
O took a harsh moral stance on Chris Brown since he beat Rihanna. Well, BeBe Winans' wife, whoever she is,raised hell last week after the famous gospel singer appeared on Oprah. Winans was charged with domestic assault last winter, and he is due back in court in January. O through a rep responded: "BeBe will not be appearing on the 'Oprah' show until his legal(domestic violence) matters are resolved in court."

Kim K. got smacked upside the head
Kim Kardashian got smacked upside the head by a fan who placed the highest bid in an auction benefitting the Dream Foundation Charity. Her opponent gave her a black eye in the process of trying to beat her to the white meat hours after her younger brother Rob suffered a concussion in his boxing match. Kim blogged about the match saying, “At the end of the day, we did this for charity and that’s what counts. You can try to bring the Kardashians down … but we’re a strong family. A concussion and a black eye can’t hold us down!”
Oprah leaving Chicago for LA
Oprah Winfrey and the Discovery Network are preparing a press release announcing the move of her talk show from Chicago to Los Angeles when her current contract ends. Work in LA for the daytime talk show on the OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) should begin in 2011. The show will no longer be shown on local network stations.Winfrey already owns a home in Montecito, CA near Santa Barbara, along with other real estate holdings around the country (including the Chicago studios). It appears with her own cable network, the advancement of other projects in the pipeline (Precious), her alliance with Tyler Perry, then include her new LA studio plans may forecast more film industry deals in the future.
Jordan's son cost UCF the entire adidas contract
Michael Jordan's son played Wednesday night for UCF wearing his father's trademark Air Jordans instead of the adidas shoes stipulated by the schoolwide contract with the company prompting them to take drastic measures: adidas will not renew the university's contract when it expires next June. “The University of Central Florida has chosen not to deliver on their contractual commitment to adidas,” the company said in a statement given to CNBC. “As a result, we have chosen not to continue our relationship with them moving forward.” As of yet, the university has no prospects to replace the lucrative contract which extended to all its athletics. Nike and Jordan have made no comment on the matter. adidas should hit up Rev. Run's fam.
Iron Chef America invited to White House
The Food Network announced Wednesday that an episode of "Iron Chef America" will be taped at the White House featuring Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse.
The three chefs, joined by White House chef Cristeta Comerford, will be welcomed by the first lady and allowed to use anything found in the garden to help create their meals.

Kansas City doesn't like Larry Johnson
Larry Johnson has ruffled a lot of feathers in Kansas City with his liberal use of an anti-gay slur in public as well as a host of other offenses. Some fans are circulating a petition to keep Johnson from breaking Priest Holmes' all-time rushing record:
We are asking you, as fans of this team, this organization, and of the
pride that this city has in the Chiefs, please deactivate Larry Johnson. Please
do not let his name sit atop the all-time rushing leaders in Kansas City Chiefs
history. He needs a mere 80 yards to surpass Priest. He doesn’t deserve that
opportunity. He has never represented anything close to the values that we have
for our Chiefs and it would be another dagger to the fans that continue to
support this proud franchise.
Whitney kicks off world tour in.....

Rev. Al Sharpton's women were arrested
According to the New York Post, Rev. Al Sharpton's ex-wife and daughter were arrested Friday night after an alleged road rage incident. According to police, Kathy Jordan, 53, and her daughter, Dominique Sharpton, 23, were placed handcuffed and taken to a police precinct where they were issued desk-appearance tickets and released; they were stopped after his daughter got tired of trailing behind a slow-moving un-marked police car. Allegedly, she honked her horn, tailgated the vehicle, and eventually illegally passed the car in a no-passing zone while running a red light. Sharpton and Jordan also allegedly tried to use the Reverend's name to get out of the charges. Nas isn't a sucker
Even though many media are reporting a Nas and Kelis reconciliation, Nas still isn't falling for the okedoke. According to Tee eM Zee, Nas recently filed papers seeking joint custody of their newborn son and seeking to bar Kelis from receiving spousal support. I don't see anything wrong with that. Kelis is a star in her own right and has plenty of her own money and a father should participate in the raising of his children, sooo. Of course, it seems he doesn't want to come up off of any paper...if he does get joint custody, I hope he takes it seriously.
BTW, two questions: 1) what is he looking at in this picture and 2) doesn't the back of that dress look like the front?

Leona Lewis loves her blue collar man
British X-Factor breakout star Leona Lewis has to defend her enduring relationship with Electrician Lou Al-Chamaa time and again. They have been since she was 17 and she refers to him as her best friend. She says, "It does make me angry. Because he’s a great person. And it doesn’t matter what you do in life, what your job is, where you come from." She told The Observer, "This is real life, it isn’t make believe. For people to think that you should leave someone because, all of a sudden, you’re a singer and you have opportunities. I feel very sorry for them." Kudos to her for keeping it real and not giving in to the pressures of stardom and "handlers." So many people make it big and forget from whence they came. She has a man who loves her, and that's all that matters.

State wildlife authorities sponsored the pilot program in an attempt to put a dent in the state's exploding python population. Python species like the Burmese Python were introduced into the wild by would-be pet owners who buy the pets at reptile shows and pet stores then realize they cannot properly care for the fast-growing voracious eaters. The snakes can grow to be over 10 feet long and weigh over 250 lbs; it is estimated several thousand of the snakes now inhabit the numerous wild areas in south and central Florida with numbers increasing daily due to natural reproduction and lack of natural predators; earlier this year, officials found a deceased python who had burst open after ingesting a large alligator.

Rihanna finally breaks her silence
Rihanna will appear on Good Morning America Thursday morning. In her first interview since the infamous incident with Chris Brown this past February, Rihanna spoke with Diane Sawyer about domestic violence and her feelings for Chris. " "This happened to me... It can happen to anyone...he was definitely my first big love." Rihanna goes on to talk about how disconcerting it was to have the media following her every move. (I'm not buying that at all; she courts media attention like a moth to a light bulb.) She will also appear on 20/20 Friday evening. I find it curious she did not grant her first interview to Oprah considering how vocal Oprah was in her support following the media firestorm. Rihanna's new single titled "Russian Roulette" just hit the airwaves...

This Is It tops the box office
Michael Jackson's concert rehearsal documentary "This Is It" topped the box office pulling in $101 million worldwide. Domestically, the film has made $32.5 million; it pulled in $68.5 million overseas, including $10.4 million in Japan, $7.6 million in Great Britain$6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China. As predicted, Sony decided to extend the two week limited engagement to at least Thanksgiving in the United States and varying dates in other markets.

Though Solange has been currently recording new music for her third solo CD, that music is being recorded independently as she has yet to ink a new deal with another label.

Bob Marley makes $600 million a year...bootlegged
Heirs of the Jamaican reggae legend are plunging into the global trademark wars, seeking to enforce their exclusive rights to an image that has grown steadily in scope and appeal since the Jamaican superstar died of brain cancer in 1981 at age 36.
The Marley name, look and sound are estimated to generate an estimated $600 million a year in sales of unlicensed wares. Legal sales are much smaller — just $4 million for his descendants in 2007, according to Forbes magazine. The Marleys refuse to give a figure.
After 28 years the family has hired Toronto-based Hilco Consumer Capital to protect their rights to the brand. Hilco CEO Jamie Salter believes Marley products could be a $1 billion business in a few years. "The family managed all the rights before Hilco was brought on board," said Marley's fourth son, Rohan. "We didn't have a real good grasp on the international scope prior to Hilco, nor the proper management."
The partnership is creating a new line of products dubbed "House of Marley" and will police the trademark vigilantly. Snowboards and tropical Jamaica may seem an odd pairing, but they're among a wide variety of planned merchandise featuring the dreadlocked musician's image, name or message — backpacks, stationery, headphones, musical instruments, restaurants.
Items are expected to hit the market in mid-2010.

Singer Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice from her days with the Spice Girls, has purchased a gated home in the San Fernando Valley area for about $3.15 million in saved-up child support checks from Eddie M.
The country French-style house has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms in more than 8,000 square feet of living space. Wrought-iron doors open to an entry foyer with limestone floors. The chateau, its 1,352-square-foot detached media house and a swimming pool sit on more than half an acre.
Designed by Xorin Balbes and built in 2006, the house has a fireplace in the family room, living room and master bedroom, plus three dishwashers and a yoga studio.
Brown and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, bought the home because they have plans to expand their family, said Charmaine DeGraté, an agent with Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills, who also represented Brown in the $3.14-million sale of her Hollywood Hills residence in April. That house had four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,476 square feet.

Is that a ferret in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
A man tried to steal a ferret from a Pet Supermarket store in Jacksonville by stuffing the ferret down his pants. When confronted, he tried to use the live animal as a weapon. He was arrested and booked on various charges which probably should have included extreme weirdness and suspicion of being a zoophiliac.
