According to the New York Post, Rev. Al Sharpton's ex-wife and daughter were arrested Friday night after an alleged road rage incident. According to police, Kathy Jordan, 53, and her daughter, Dominique Sharpton, 23, were placed handcuffed and taken to a police precinct where they were issued desk-appearance tickets and released; they were stopped after his daughter got tired of trailing behind a slow-moving un-marked police car. Allegedly, she honked her horn, tailgated the vehicle, and eventually illegally passed the car in a no-passing zone while running a red light. Sharpton and Jordan also allegedly tried to use the Reverend's name to get out of the charges. There will undoubtedly be much more revealed about this developing story in time.Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Contessa Brewer of MSNBC calls Rev. Jesse...Rev. Al, for real though. He should have said, "Thank you Soledad, nice to be here."

When Blogging goes wrong: Woman adopts black baby then sends it back 18 months later...
Anita Tedaldi, mother to five girls and wife to a deployed soldier, adopted a South American boy who’d been abandoned by the side of a road. The boy failed to develop a familial bond with Tedaldi or her daughters (like somehow it was his fault). So Tedaldi “returned” her adopted son like a failed product after eighteen months of being his mother. Of course, Tedaldi wrote a blog about her experience and it caught the attention of the NY Times and the Today show. Mind you Tedaldi also wrote an article entitled, 'We Can't Trade In Our Children or Husbands', in January 2008 on the site military.com.
After Anita made her decision, the adoption group found "Baby D" a home with another family, and, according to Anita, he is doing well. Do you think we should be able to trade in children like pokemon cards or she did the appropriate thing by trying to right an untenable situation.

Cracker Barrel Attack-ATL
Clayton County prosecutors said Wednesday they are trying to have felony charges reinstated against a man who attacked an Army reservist in front of her child outside a Morrow Cracker Barrel.
A judge dropped a felony child cruelty charge against Troy D. West, Jr. He was released from the Clayton County jail Friday -- two days after being arrested for striking Tashawnea Hill in front of her 7-year-old daughter.
District Attorney Tracy Graham Lawson said she may file felony charges against West. "We're reviewing the police reports and talking to witnesses to determine whether felony charges should be presented to the grand jury," Lawson said Wednesday.
West, 47, is charged with battery, disorderly conduct and cruelty to children -- all misdemeanors. He is also the subject of an FBI investigation for committing a possible a hate crime. Police said West, who is white, yelled racial slurs at Tashawnea Hill as he was kicking and punching her in the head.
The attack occurred as Hill and her daughter were leaving the Morrow restaurant and West was heading inside, Morrow Police Capt. James Callaway said. Hill told West to be careful after the restaurant door came close to striking her child, Callaway said. That's when West became enraged and attacked the woman, police said.
“She kept saying, ‘Sir, I’m a United States soldier, don’t do this,’ ” Callaway said. On Wednesday, the Atlanta office of the FBI said they have launched a "preliminary" investigation for a possible hate crime, at the request of Morrow Police.
West told Morrow police he became upset because Hill spit on him after accusing him of trying to hit her daughter, according to the police report. But several witnesses said they never saw Hill spit on West.
West remains free on a $12,500 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 28. West runs Troy's Paint & Body & Auto Salvage in Poulan, which is in south Georgia near Albany.
We are in no way advocating violence, but perhaps you might want to write a letter to the district attorney's office, the local chamber of commerce, or the Better Business Bureau to let them know how you feel about this case.

German magazine admits it faked MJ Coroner Van video
A spokesperson for German television station RTL produced the hoax video for its daily magazine "Explosive" to tell people not to believe everything they see or read on the internet or media. "This was so obviously fake, in the case of Michael Jackson, it just was not possible," Schultz said.
RTL claims some viewers have been happy the station showed how easy it was to fake information online. Many others have commented online that this was completely tasteless to do in the wake of such an important person's death; this was the wrong topic to do this kind of experiment on. The video sparked incredible worldwide interest; more than 880,000 people have viewed the original video on YouTube. I called out this video as a hoax last week; I have posted a link to the annotated video showing why the video is a hoax. Click on the bubble in the upper right hand corner to translate it. I told y'all we're worldwide!
