Should Sen. Reid resign because of his racial remarks?
U.S. Senator Harry Reid is taking considerable heat in the fallout of revelations of racial remarks he ade about then Presidential candidate, Barak Obama in 2008. Reid, in a private conversation during the presidential race, said "I can still remember the meeting that took place in my office with Sen. Barack Obama, telling him that I think he can be elected president"
A new book quotes Reid, D-Nevada, as saying privately in 2008 that Obama could be successful as a black candidate in part because of his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
A number of prominent African Americans have come to Sen. Reid's defense including Attorney General Eric Holder and NAACP President Julian Bond. President Obama has come out in defense of Reid saying he has always been on the right side of history, has supported him (Obama) from the beginning, and that he is a good man.

Obama hung in effgy
The United States Secret Service is investigating an incident in former President Jimmy Carter's hometown of Plains, Georgia where an effigy of President Barack Obama was hung from a building. The Black doll was found early Saturday morning hanging by a noose with a weathered sign saying "Obama" in front of a larger official sign on the building that read "Plains, Georgia. Home of Jimmy Carter, our 39th President."

We hope you had Mele Kalikimaka just like the Obamas
The United States' first family, the Obamas, spent the Christmas Holidays in Oahu celebrating quietly with their extended family. President and Mrs. Obama did not exchange gifts this year, according to White House spokesmen. Instead, they focused the holiday on giving to the children and service to the community. Mrs. Obama, along with her daughters Malia and Sasha, and the First Dog, Bo, delivered cookies to the Children's National Medical Center earlier this week. The Obamas celebrated the holidays with the President's sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, and her family and will extend their Hawaiian trip into January.
There is nothing else like Christmas in Hawaii. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Oahu at the holidays, jump on it.

Angelina Jolie criticizes the Obama administration

Angelina Jolie, a staple on OTHER gossip websites, recently criticized the Obama administration in an editorial for Newsweek Magazine. "Their policy, though, raises a number of questions," the top box office star wrote. "How is the Obama administration's approach to Sudan an evolution of justice? In addition, when the administration says it intends to work to 'improve the lives of the people of Darfur,' I would like to know what that means, besides the obvious point that their lives could hardly get worse."
Now, I was sucking my teeth and thinking she should sweep outside her own door and explore her relationship issues before I read it was about Darfur. The problems in the Sudan, South Africa, Kenya, and other places really touch my heart. I think there is always more we can do. I admire her for doing the unpopular thing by speaking up in an attempt to spur the President to re-examine his timetable for addressing the problems of the developing world.

Lawmaker says "RedNeck Rap" wasn't racist
Kansas Rep. Bill Otto apologized for offending anyone by criticizing President Barack Obama while wearing a cap that calls opossum "the other dark meat." Otto said during a meeting with the NAACP on Saturday that he had "absolutely no thought of anything racial" in his online video, "RedNeck Rap." Otto still stands by his criticism of the Obama administrations decision to bring Guantanamo Bay prisoners to the U.S. and the economic bailouts. Rep. Otto says his cap refers to his roots and "The Beverly Hillbillies" television family that dined on opossum. His intended message is that anyone can see Congress' failings. The NAACP demanded an apology after the video was posted in September. In a sequel, Otto offers some praise to Obama.

Now you too can grow Obama's hair
"Chia Obama makes the statement, 'I'm proud to be an American.' "
The creator of this gem is 77-year-old Chia Pet mogul Joseph Pedott. Pedott's product has been accused of racism because of the bushiness of Chia Obama's hair when fully grown. Pedott, for his part, never voted for a Democrat in his life before Obama and meant for the chia to be an honest tribute.
"All I tried to do was something positive," he says. "I never even thought about the hair."
President Obama seemed unfazed about possible racial connotations when Pedott presented him with his terra cotta likeness. "I've got green hair!" Obama chuckled. "
He's as warm as he can be," says Pedott. "I was so damn impressed."
The Rev. Jesse Jackson has endorsed the product; now if he could just get Rev. Al...

Wouldn't he have to graduate first? (aka he would be worse than Sarah Palin as VP)
50 Cent recently discussed how thrifty he has become with his flossin' mackin' and pimpin' in the recession: “I buy diamonds on a very regular basis, but now I am selling my old stuff before I get something new. These are times when you learn about the value of money...If you don’t lose money in this recession, it means you didn’t have enough to start off with. Sure, I lost a few million, but that’s because I have so much. This is a time that will sort out the strong from the weak. Any businessman who wants a piece of the future should learn for me. Obama is great. If he wants me as his financial adviser that would be cool.”Source: Daily Telegraph UK

The Recipient of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize is.....

For one of America's youngest presidents, in office less than nine months — and only for 12 days before the Nobel nomination deadline last February — it was an enormous honor.
The prize seems to be more for Obama's promise than for his performance. The Nobel committee cited as his key accomplishment "a new climate in international politics." The president has become "the world's leading spokesman" for its agenda, the committee said. The Nobel committee, it seems, had the audacity to hope that he'll eventually produce a record worthy of its prize.

Can a President trump a King?
Those criticizing President Obama for taking time out to fly to Copenhagen to pitch for hosting the 2016 Olympic games in Chicago fail to mention Japan is sending its newly-elected Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, Brazil is sending its president Lula da Silva, and Spain is sending, not its Prime Minister, but its KING, King Juan Carlos. (Juan Carlos is just as handsome in person as he is in pictures, by the way.) Can a President trump a King?

The "A" Team is going Denmark to vie for the Olympics

President and Mrs. Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and a host of other prominent Chicagoans are going to Copenhagen, Denmark this week to make a pitch to host the 2016 Olympics in Chicago, Illinois. They will compete against Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and Madrid for the prestigious honor. Obama's trip marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has lobbied for the Olympics in person; leaders from the other three top contenders also plan to attend.
President Obama's trip has drawn sharp criticism from the right even though he plans to spend less than four hours on the ground in Denmark before returning home. "I think at a time of war, I think at a time of recession, at a time where Americans have expressed rather significantly their concerns and frustrations over the course of the spring and summer ... this trip, while nice, is not necessary for the president," Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele said in a conference call with reporters Tuesday. Similarly, a small group of dissenters have organized anti-Olympic protests in Obama's home city of Chicago and one has gone so far as to set up an anti-Olympic website that lobbies for Rio to win the hosting.
Personally, I think people will go to every length to oppose any and everything the President does. Hosting the Olympics is a great international honor and would go a long way towards revitializing the local and national economy. The Olympics always brings hundreds of millions of dollars to the host city in the form of tourism, new construction, law enforcement funding, infrastructure improvements, and increased government accountability to citizenry. Chicago will no doubt be vastly improved in anticipation of the international spotlight. There is no down side here.

Samoa devastated by tsunami
An undersea earthquake of magnitude 8.2 midway between Samoa and American Samoa triggered a massive tsunami that devastated the island nations. Residents of the islands fled at least four waves of 15 to 20 feet high as cars, people, and buildings were washed out to sea. An earthquake in Indonesia triggered a smaller tsunami, though the extent of that damage was faar less than the Pacific destruction. Hundreds of people were injured and so far 113 total are confirmed dead in American Samoa, Samoa, Tonga, and Australia. President Obama has declared a state of emergency in American Samoa and FEMA officials are en route from Hawaii.

Tyson wants to run penis up in the POTUS
On Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" Andy Cohen asked Tyson Beckford if he had to spend the night with a man who would it be? “Well, I don’t actually go that way,” Tyson says, “but I notice a lot of people think I do.” But if I’ma do it, I’m going for Obama. If I got with him, I could run the country. If I was that way, yeah, Obama.” Cohen goads him on, “You would give it to Obama?” Tyson replies, “Yeah, I’d be the one in control…Who you gonna go for? Will Smith? Somebody pretty like that?”
Um, yeah. I doubt very much Mr. President has time for extra-curdickular activities let alone with Mr. Makemeasupermodel.

First Lady Michelle Obama made the list

First Lady Michelle Obama made People Magazine's 10 Best Dressed Women of the Year list. She was named "Best Accessible Glamour." And I thought the words "accessible" and Kim K. went hand in hand.
Mrs. Obama will also appear in the October issue of Women's Health magazine (Pres. Obama will be in the Oct. Men's Health), to discuss fitness and nutrition. She will also reveal the exercises she uses to keep away the flab and keep her arms fab.
