Marvell Scott charged with rape
Former WABC sports anchor, Marvell Scott was charged this week with raping with a 14-year-old
prostitute in New York City. Scott, 36, allegedly met the girl through her pimp. He allegedly took her and a 16 year old girl to his apartment where she refused to deliver the agreed-upon services. He then allegedly raped the girl, who had just turned 14 the day before. Scott, after initially denying he had met the girls, eventually said he allowed the girls into his apartment to use the restroom. He was released on $10,000 bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday. He was also charged with patronizing a prostitute and endangering the welfare of a child. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the charges.

Should Sen. Reid resign because of his racial remarks?
U.S. Senator Harry Reid is taking considerable heat in the fallout of revelations of racial remarks he ade about then Presidential candidate, Barak Obama in 2008. Reid, in a private conversation during the presidential race, said "I can still remember the meeting that took place in my office with Sen. Barack Obama, telling him that I think he can be elected president"
A new book quotes Reid, D-Nevada, as saying privately in 2008 that Obama could be successful as a black candidate in part because of his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
A number of prominent African Americans have come to Sen. Reid's defense including Attorney General Eric Holder and NAACP President Julian Bond. President Obama has come out in defense of Reid saying he has always been on the right side of history, has supported him (Obama) from the beginning, and that he is a good man.

They're just tired of his ass
The NBA has finally suspended Washington Wizards baller Gilbert Arenas indefinitely. NBA commissioner David Stern said, “Although it is clear that the actions of Mr. Arenas will ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game … Accordingly, I am suspending Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, effective immediately pending the completion of the investigation by the NBA.”
Arenas is under investigation for bringing guns to the venue where his team, the Wizards, plays. He is also under investigation for a supposed altercation with fellow teammate Javaris Crittendon.

This is the picture that did it
NBA Commissoner David Stern finally suspended Arenas indefintely without pay Wednesday, that's about $150,000 per game.
If Plaxico got two years for shooting his own self in a club in NYC, how long you think Gilbert's gonna get in DC taking four guns to WORK?

Tiger is costing you money
Superstar golfer Tiger Woods' sex scandal involving upwards of 17 alleged mistresses may have cost shareholders of the companies he endorsed as much as $12 billion in losses. Research by economics professors Christopher Knittel and Victor Stango of the University of California, Davis, released a study Monday estimating the economic losses of Woods' main sponsors since revelations of his extramarital affairs surfaced around Thanksgiving.
“We estimate that shareholders of Tiger Woods’ sponsors lost $5-12 billion after his car accident, relative to shareholders of firms that Mr. Woods does not endorse,” the researchers wrote, adding that millions of shareholders were affected. Tiger Woods is estimated to earn around $100 million a year through endorsements alone. Many of his sponsors have pulled their endorsement deals in the wake of the scandal.

NBA investigating Gilbert Arenas for storing guns in his locker
Washington Wizards say its guard, Gilbert Arenas, stored unloaded firearms in a container in his locker at the Verizon Center. The team said the firearms were unloaded and there was no ammunition in the locked container. Arenas told The Washington Times he took his guns to the Verizon Center after his daughter, Hamiley Penny, was born this month. Approximately a week after her birth, he says he handed the firearms over to team security with a request they turn the guns over to police. Arenas told the newspaper. “After my daughter was born, I was just like, ‘I don’t need these anymore.”
This is not Arenas' first trouble with firearms. He was suspended for Washington’s season opener in 2004 because he failed to maintain proper registration of a handgun while living in California in 2003. The league’s collective bargaining agreement allows for players to legally possess firearms but prohibits them at league facilities or when traveling on any league-related business.

Marion Jones makes history yet again

The International Olympic Committee on Wednesday reallocated two individual medals stripped from Marion Jones for doping but, in an unprecedented move, withheld her 100-meter prize from Greek sprinter Katerina Thanou because of her "disgraceful" behavior in evading drug tests.
The decision means the first two runners across the line in Sydney have both been denied the winner's medal for doping violations, and the gold in sprinting's marquee event will remain without an owner.

Tiger Woods must be hemorrhaging money
Tiger Woods must be hemorrhaging money now that many of his sponsors have pulled his prime time ads. Since June, Woods has appeared in 15 different product spots that aired regularly during prime time evening television, but they have all disappeared. His last spot was a November 29th commercial for Gillette razors. This is bad news for Woods who is easily the most recognized sports figure in this country and possibly in the world; according to Bloomberg polling 86% of U.S. consumers over the age of six years old recognized Tiger Woods.
