Mariah almost took a spill
Mariah Carey almost took a nasty spill during her appearance on Jay Leno this week. Mrs. Cannon blamed her trip on a loose shoe strap, but her ample bosom about to pop out of that tight dress might have more than a little bit to do with unbalancing her. She later redeemed herself by being utterly charming and getting an *ahem* "rise" out of Jay while demonstrating sexy 'parfume' application.

Mariah is back to her old self

Reportedly, the little sit down her Precious director had little lasting effect. Mariah is back to being a diva in full effect demanding six-figure compensation for her hair and make-up staff in addition to her regular appearance, travel, and expense fees. She travels with a huge entourage including a crack security team. Her security team is required to make daily 'sweeps' of the performance venue in the days leading up to her appearances with the 'sweeps' and 'intelligence-gathering' reaching a fever pitch the day of her arrival. Reportedly, she also demands the venue remove its employees and restrict backstage entry to her own personnel. If these rumors are true, she is no angel, imperfect or otherwise. Bring back humble Mariah!
I'm just kidding. I love a good diva.

Mariah told to drop the diva act
Director Lee Daniels had to warn Mariah Carey to drop the diva act if she wanted to participate in the movie Precious. Daniels told Mariah to leave all her star trappings at home. "If you come with a strip of makeup on," he recalls telling her, "I will have a backup (actress). I knew that she would be out of her safety zone, and I knew that there would be no one for her to rely on, to say, 'Get me this, get me that,'" he said. "I could see in her eyes... 'What is Lee doing to me?'" Daniels stripped down the Imperfect Angel's image so much she is said to have disappeared into the role; all you see is the dowdy social worker, not the mega-selling, Grammy Award-winning superstar.
For her part, Carey was greatful for the challenge. "That was such a freeing experience for me," she said. "By making me look so bad he brought out the ability to never be self-conscious again, and that was a gift that he gave me."

Nick Cannon loves married life

Nickelodeon's young Chairman, Nick Cannon, visited Piers and Hoda on Kathy Lee & Hoda yesterday morning. Piers, a judge on America's Got Talent, asked Nick what it was like to be married to Mariah Carey. Nick got all googly-eyed and gushed, "It's amazing! I don't know about anybody else's marriage but...it's amazing...it's really a fantasy."
Mariah talks about meeting Nick and getting to know him.

Mariah keeps saying "Obsessed" wasn't about Eminem

French radio show NRJ interviewed Mariah Carey on Wednesday. She continues to deny "Obsessed" is about Eminem or any crazed rapper/stalkers in particular.
Mariah: I wrote that song for all the people who have ever been in a situation where somebody’s obsessed with them and they keep texting them and bothering them and telling people that they had a relationship with them and lying about them. So it’s for everybody – all the people in the world who have ever been annoyed by somebody.
Radio host: So it’s not...Eminem?
Mariah: I don’t even know who that is. [Laughter] I wrote the song and I’m very happy with it. And I’m happy with my new album. So I don’t know if somebody wants to write their little songs. I haven’t heard them on the radio, I don’t know what’s going on with that. They don’t seem to play them here in America. I’m not sure so I don’t know.

Tyler Perry Announces Dream Cast for 'Colored Girls'

When it was announced last week that Tyler Perry will be writing, directing and producing a film version of Ntozake Shange's award-winning 1975 play 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf,' there was plenty of talk as to who would be cast.
Well, while promoting his latest film, 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself,' which opens Sept. 11, Perry talked about who he wanted to appear in the movie. Among the chosen few are Oscar winner Halle Berry, Angela Bassett, Ruby Dee, Cicely Tyson, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Beyonce Knowles, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys.
Of the 11 actresses mentioned, six have already committed to be in the film, but Perry wouldn't say who exactly. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Atlanta in November and continue through December, with a release planned for next year.
