Kelis' new video "Acapella"

Kelis has finally stopped counting those support checks from Nas and gotten back on her own grind.  Check out her hot new video "Acapella."  True to form, it is eccentric and edgy and unlike anything else out there.  Lady Gaga?  Who is that?

Erykah Badu feat. Lil' Wayne: "Jump Up In the Air (Stay There)"

I adore Erykah.  It's good to see her making new music.  Even though Wayne threatens to become overexposed due to his push to appear in everything before he is hauled off to jail, his turn here keeps things fresh.  Between them they could field a basketball team with all their kids.

Chris Brown "Invented Head"

This was posted on Saturday for a reason.  Just....wow.  Chris Brown will drop a mixtape on Valentine’s Day featuring 32 remixes of other people's songs.  Look for the mixtape "In My Zone" hosted by DJ Drama Brown in a beauty supply store or car trunk record store near you.

The Making of Sade's Soldier of Love

...got a hold of a pre-release of Soldier of Love.

If you watch the promo, Sade's bandmates mention that she was inspired by the scenery, wind, rain and the typically poor British weather outside of the studio.

Unfortunately, after listening, you will probably wish she recorded this on the island of Martinique. Sounds mostly like a sNorah Jones CD and for me the best tracks were 'Soldier' and maybe, 'Skin'.

And that's all I have to say about that...street date: February 9th

Whitney Houston and Clive Davis are livid

Clive Davis and his biggest project yet, Whitney Houston, are livid that her new album I Look To You was completely overlooked for a Grammy nomination.  Producers pushed up the release date of the album to make it eligible for Grammy nominations this year.  Word is, they expected it to be nominated for album of the year, as well as other prestigious categories.    The album was certified platinum at the end of November.  Danja, who produced several tracks on the album had this to say to Billboard.com
“I’m a little disappointed because she put together a classic album. Her overall comeback is something to be noted but I’m a believer that great people and great music will always show its head.”
Whitney's label also released a statement:
“Considering the level of critical acclaim the album received and the sales to date, one million in the U.S. and two million worldwide, we’re surprised,” said Mika El-Baz.

New artist: Sa'mya

I adore Floetry's music and was really sad when they broke up.  I still put on their songs when I really want to chill out.  It's obvious talent runs in the family because Marsha Ambrose's sister Sa'mya really puts it on your ears.  Check it out.

Hidden Michael Jackson music found in SEGA video game

True Michael Jackson fans have known about this soundtrack since he did it. It is said Michael has hundreds of songs and dozens of unreleased music videos in the SONY vault and at his home. Many of them are said to be saved on the computer hard drive removed from his home on the day of his death by his sister LaToya Jackson. Let us pray she doesn't damage or destroy those songs before the world gets to hear them.
