Mel B. is a Valley Girl

Singer Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice from her days with the Spice Girls, has purchased a gated home in the San Fernando Valley area for about $3.15 million in saved-up child support checks from Eddie M.

The country French-style house has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms in more than 8,000 square feet of living space. Wrought-iron doors open to an entry foyer with limestone floors. The chateau, its 1,352-square-foot detached media house and a swimming pool sit on more than half an acre.

Designed by Xorin Balbes and built in 2006, the house has a fireplace in the family room, living room and master bedroom, plus three dishwashers and a yoga studio.

Brown and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, bought the home because they have plans to expand their family, said Charmaine DeGraté, an agent with Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills, who also represented Brown in the $3.14-million sale of her Hollywood Hills residence in April. That house had four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,476 square feet.

Only last month Mel B was enjoying a shopping trip in New York, staying in a top class hotel and sampling all the trappings of fame.

This week she's been in Yorkshire attempting to see how far she can stretch £120 (about $200 USD) between a family of six for seven days. The former Spice Girl has joined other famous (British stars you probably never heard of) faces in a reality show designed to see how they'd fare on welfare.

She was left to care for Elaine Henry's five children while she was put up in a hotel. And it didn't take long before Mel, formerly known as Scary Spice, was making some changes. It's thought she splashed most of her cash on painting and decorating (I guess five kids don't eat) the rundown row house, which was constantly monitored by the show's producers and the police.

Her presence has certainly been felt in the neighbourhood. One resident said, 'We've seen more police cars this week than in the whole year.'

Kelly wants to look like Mel B.

Kelly Rowland is envious of Melanie Brown's hard body and six pack abs after spying her at a party recently. She says, "I think Mel B looks so good, I really do. I'm trying to do more crunches so I can almost get a tummy like hers but I like rice and pasta and that's the problem right there."

In and of itself, the comment is innocuous. The issue becomes when is a woman's body ever good enough? Kelly has beautiful brown skin, long lean legs, a bright white smile, and a slender model's figure yet she still thinks she isn't slim and cut enough?

Mel B Reveals How She Keeps Her Body Peep Show Ready

Mel B discussed her--ahem--exercise routine to Grazia Magazine. Mel said, "I have sex with him [hubby Belafonte] five times a day - maybe that has something to do with it. I have to admit, I’m a nymphomaniac with him. It’s sexercise!”

Yeah, it's either that or chasing after Eddie's money.

Evidently Mel B.'s Hubby Isn't As Good In Bed As We Thought

Apparently, Mel B.'s latest husband isn't as good in bed as she had hoped:

"I read about new research that showed 75 per cent of women don't have an orgasm during sex! Oh my God! That amazed me, because having a good sex life is absolutely essential in my opinion. My advice to women who are unfulfilled in the bedroom is to invest in a sex toy. I use a little vibrator called a Pocket Rocket - and it does the trick every time."

Just a few months ago this is what she was saying:

"I know I'll always be faithful to Stephen because I've never met anyone before him sexually who is on a par with me. They start off on a par and then they can't keep up but with him it's perfect. Actually I've never met anybody with a higher sex drive than me ever in my entire life."

Spice Girl Mel B follows in the steps of Helena Christensen, Rachel Hunter, and Penny Lancaster as the newest face of Ultimo Lingerie. A source from the company said, "We were blown away by the great shape she is in and desperate to land her."
