Kobe covers GQ

Kobe Bryant dishes about his proudest moments, his mistakes, and his game--on the court and off--in the next issue of GQ Magazine on the stands February 23, 2010.

On his relationship with Shaq:

“The biggest mistake I made was responding to what he was saying about me. Once I responded, now that made it seem like I was part of that whole thing. It’s like, Okay, these two are against each other. As opposed to just staying quiet, which is what I’ve been doing the last few years. Let him say what he needs to say.”

On how his win-at-all-costs mindset doesn’t carry over to the rest of his life:

“What people see on court is another side of me; it’s not me. That dark side that’s coming to get you – ha ha! I’m not losing this fucking game – that’s not who I am. That’s part of me. Off the court, I’m completely different.”

Housekeeper's suit against Kobe and Vanessa allowed to go forward

Maria Jimenez

A California judge has ruled that Maria Jimenez can continue her wrongful discharge case but can't sue for emotional distress. Orange County Superior Court Judge Kirk Nakamura also ruled Thursday that the Bryants can pursue their countersuit against Jimenez for violating a confidentiality agreement by talking to reporters about the family. The judge says Jimenez cannot sue for invasion of privacy because she knew about the video cameras in the Bryants' house.
Jimenez says she was denied health insurance and was forced to quit because her employers demeaned and humiliated her. Jimenez claims that Mrs. Bryant once made her stick her hand in a bag of dog feces to fish out a sales receipt for an expensive blouse that Ms. Jimenez had allegedly ruined.

I predict a reality show in 10 years pitting Kobe's daughters against Ming and Aoki Lee in a battle for the most fabulosity and divaliciousness. You know all four of them are a handful for the help. Mark my words.

Jerry West Thinks Lebron James is a Better Player Than Kobe

Michael Jordan was the best defensive player in the league but he was also the best offensive player,” said West. “It wasn’t a one-year fluke, he proved it over time.”LeBron James will do the same type of things because he’s getting better. He’s a much more effective shooter. “But even though it’s hard for me to be objective, because I brought Kobe to Los Angeles, I do think LeBron has surpassed Kobe as a player.”
