Gay gospel superstar Donnie McClurkin went on an anti-gay rant last weekend at the Church of God In Christ convention in Memphis.
McClurkin's rant can bee seen in a series of three YouTube videos. He begins his rant against Tonex, the gospel star who recently came out amidst continuing rumors about his sexuality. McClurkin says Tonex is a "perversion" and must pray away the gay: "God did not call young people to such peversion. Society has failed him, his church has failed him ... I would be homosexual to this day if Jesus hadn't delivered."
McClurkin also berated openly gay youth as "broken and feminine": "I see feminine men, feminine boys, everywhere I go ... No, don't applaud 'cuz it ain't funny. It's because we failed. I see them everywhere." He didn't let young lesbian girls off the hook either: "These young girls are just as bad as the boys in homosexuality, you don't see it. They can hide ... but there are some evil young hard butch girls."
It should be noted that despite McClurkin's claims for "delivery" from his homosexuality, he has admitted to "backsliding" on a number of occasions. He has compared his sexuality to diabetes saying (I'm paraphrasing here) 'I'm a diabetic. I don't eat sugar, but it doesn't mean I don't want sugar; that doesn't mean when I see an attractive man I don't want him.' If that doesn't mean you are gay then I don't know what does.
He probably really wants to get some from Tonex that's why he's going in on him.
ReplyDeleteI understand what he is saying and agree with him of most of his statement. However, he should understand Tonex's struggle more than anyone. Even though he has been delivered, he is still tempted to get some "sugar" from time to time. Prayer is needed not being called and referred to as 'pervert'/perversion. That is not going to help at all.
ReplyDeleteI agree he should understand what Tonex went through with the rumors. Being out ed and called out isn't helping things for the young man. As for Donnie, he is fooling himself. If he still desires men he will sleep with men. He has done it before and will do it again. He is G-A-Y.

ReplyDeleteIf he gonna call out Tonex he better call all of them out in the industry. There are a lot of gay people,men and women, in gospel music. He shouldn't just pick on one young man.
ReplyDeleteAt least Donnie is struggling with his demons. Tonex just wants to be gay. period. Point blank the Bible says it is wrong.
ReplyDeleteDonnie needs to be careful at the stones he's throwing. In the end he'll be just like all the other self righteous asses, that are happily partaking in exactly what they spoke out against. What's done in the dark will come to light, so I hope he geniunely practices what he's preaching or he'll be found out like the rest of em. Many of these gospel celebrities and evangelists are just wolves in sheeps clothing, and money/fame is their main objective.
