PETA spews cow manure yet again

This PETA billboard in Jacksonville, Florida is causing controversy worldwide. PETA's ads usually focus directly on eliminating cruelty to animals, but their current campaign seems to promote a supposedly cruelty-free vegetarian lifestyle while simultaneously promoting cruelty to obese persons. PETA has failed to realize (or care) that a number of their supporters are, in fact, obese. Additionally, there is not a direct line between a vegetarian diet and maintaining an ideal weight; a number of people following a vegetarian diet actually gain weight due to increased hunger resulting from a decrease in satiety from reduced fat and protein in vegetarian meals. PETA should immediately remove the billboard, apologize, and make a contribution to weight loss research.

  1. This billboard is kind of funny but I can see how someone would get angry about it.

  2. if you go on a vegetarian diet, you will lose weight-stop putting a half a jar of Maries Blue Cheese and a 1/4 slab of chopped bacon on the salad-apologize for people not having a sense of humor?

  3. If you don't eat at all you will lose weight as well. Save the veggies!

  4. many vegetarians keep weight on them because even though they cut out meat, they still eat a lot of carbs.

  5. That's right! They increase the amount of carbs to give them that full feeling. Plus they still crave all that protein from meat. A lot of fattening stuff is vegetarian. Cheese? Ice cream anyone?
