NYC's Standard Hotel vows to try closing curtains on guests' peep show

A swanky Manhattan hotel - which urges its guests to flaunt their freaky side for all to see - is causing a flurry of controversy in the Meatpacking District. The Standard Hotel, which rises above High Line park, features 18 stories of floor-to-ceiling windows and guests have the option of keeping their curtains open so onlookers on the streets of New York can get a glimpse of the action going on inside.

The hotel, which is located on Washington and 13th Streets, opened seven months ago and in recent nights, some guests have reportedly been spotted having sex, coming out of the shower and even masturbating.

The peep show is also attracting unwanted attention in area that's known to be kid-friendly. Beside the hotel sits the newly opened High Line Park which was built on an old elevated train line. Many families take their pets for a stroll in a dog park that's located just yards away from the scandalous hotel.

The hotel, which according to sources uses the slogan of "we'll put up with your banging if you put up with ours," released a statement that "The hotel will make a concerted effort to remind guests of the transparency of the guest room windows." That should do it. (I'm booking my ticket to NYC as we speak!)
