It's a Chick Fight!

El Pollo Loco is trying to horn in on KFC’s botched attempt to drive recession customers to its restaurants. This past week KFC and their #1 customer of all time Oprah distributed downloadable coupons for a free two piece grilled chicken meal. Restaurants were slammed with lines stretching around the block and 2 hour waits in some areas. Fights, sit-ins, and riots broke out at some locations when they ran out of chicken and others refused to honor the coupon. The coupon isn’t good for Mother’s Day so The Crazy Chicken decided to accept KFC’s coupons for the holiday. Other chains might follow their example

Update: KFC has stopped accepting the free chicken coupons for the time being. The chain will issue rainchecks good for a free meal plus a drink to anyone who mails in the coupons.

    I'm gonna get my free chicken one way or the other. They're gonna have to feed me. Don't they know it's a recession? You can't put out a coupon and then not honor it. hmmpf!
