Steve McNair was killed on July 4th-but fireworks continue...

Documents were filed late Friday afternoon in Nashville probate court which claim a Mississippi woman named Clover Lee has a 17-year-old daughter referred to as "J.N.L." who is seeking part of the late Tennessee Titan's fortune. Her attorney issued the following statement: "We expect that questions of paternity and heirship will soon be conclusively answered by DNA testing which is being conducted." Lee lives in McNair's hometown of Mount Olive, Miss. It was unclear why she waited until three months after McNair's death to file.

McNair's estate is estimated to be worth $19.6 million and is currently being divided among his widow and four sons. So far McNair's widow, Mechelle McNair, will get 40 percent of the estate, while the four or five children will get the rest.

Also on Friday, a judge ruled that McNair's portion of his Nashville restaurant, the Gridiron 9, can be sold, even though one of the other owners, Raymond White, opposes.

  1. Wow! It doesn't seem fair she gets 40% while each of the sons only gets 15%. Now they get even less. I say take it from her portion. She can always go get a job.

  2. I bet he has a lot of kids out there that will come out for a piece of this pie. When its all said and done Mechelle will end up with $49.92 and a 2 piece from Popeyes.

  3. It's ashame the repurcussions of his selfish lifestyle are still affecting his family, even after death. They should not have to pay for the choices he made. I know his wife is suffering endlessly and I hope she finds peace. Thank goodness his kids are still young and can heal from this.
