Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was informed Friday that his former fiancée, who was recently sentenced to five years in prison for a probation violation in Missouri, is not pregnant as she has maintained for months. Taylor went by the name of "Crissy Travino" to Now(nit-wit)zki with Taylor claiming to be of Brazilian heritage.

The 38-year-old Taylor was taken into custody in mid-May while the Mavericks flew back from Denver after a Game 2 loss to the Nuggets in a NBA second-round series Dallas eventually lost 4-1. A private investigation into Taylor's past, as part of a prenuptial agreement urged by Nowitzki's advisers, revealed outstanding arrest warrants for Taylor in two states and her reported use of more than 20 aliases. At the time of her arrest she claimed to be pregnant and Nowitzki the father.

Nowitzki was reported to been seen accidentally putting his head through an 8-foot ceiling when jumping upon hearing the news in South Africa where he is participating in the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Program.

Dirk Nowitzki's ex Gets Five Years...

A former girlfriend of Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki was sentenced Monday to five years in prison for violating probation in St. Charles,Mo.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Cristal Taylor admitted in court on Monday that she failed to check in with her probation officer in a 12-year-old forgery and theft case. She also acknowledged being arrested twice in Texas in 2000 for misdemeanors.

The 38-year-old St. Louis-area native has said she planned to marry Nowitzki and was pregnant with his child. A Texas judge last month ordered Taylor to undergo a paternity test to determine the father, and Nowitzki is seeking sole custody of the child.

Taylor was arrested on May 6 at Nowitzki's home in Dallas on a 2006 theft of services charge in Jefferson County involving dental work.

She pleaded guilty in 1999 in Missouri to two counts of forgery and two counts of felony stealing and was placed on probation.

St. Charles County Circuit Judge Nancy Schneider on Monday ordered her to serve a concurrent five-year prison sentence for three felonies and a misdemeanor, the clerk's office said.

Taylor was given credit for one year of probation, which means she will serve four years. Her attorney told the Post-Dispatch that she also will receive credit for more than 100 days she spent in jail waiting for trial in her current case.

Taylor's attorney, Matthew Fry, declined to comment about the case to The Associated Press.

Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki has filed papers seeking sole custody of his now unborn child with ex-girlfriend Cristal Taylor (Crista Ann Taylor) pending the results of a paternity test. Taylor, who has a number of aliases and a multi-state record of financial crimes, is under investigation for using someone else's credit card to pay for approximately $11,000 in dental work and violation of probation. At the time of her arrest, Cristal and Nowitzki lived together in his $6 million mansion, were engaged to be married, and the basketball star had purchased a $250,000 engagement ring.

According to ESPN, the FBI is currently investigating threatening phone calls Taylor allegedly made to Nowitzki and his attorneys from jail seeking money. The ballplayer's father told German media it was almost as if she is blackmailing him.

According to one of Taylor's former roommates, she has three teenaged children, none of which she raised herself. Sources close to Nowitzki, Taylor drove a wedge between Dirk, his family, and his teammates.

You Can't Turn A Groupie Into A Girlfriend

Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki's girlfriend Cristal Taylor was arrested this week by FBI agents on charges from two states. The German NBA star's African American girlfriend has as many as eight aliases and was arrested on a theft of services charge out of Jefferson County, Texas and a probation violation charge out of St. Charles, Missouri. Dirk is reportedly engaged to Cristal and she is carrying his baby. Nowitzki made this statement according to the Dallasnews.com:

"It's pretty obvious that I'm going through a tough time in my personal life right now," Dirk said. "Like I always have, I want to kind of keep my private life private. I really am not at the stage where I can talk about it yet and feel comfortable talking about it. I'm more than happy to answer basketball questions, but I think at this point, I just can't talk about it."

A man claiming to be Cristal's family member made this statement in her defense:

"Yes Dirk is going threw a very hard time but....not everyone knows all the facts. If u dnt know facts then its best just to shut up. As a family member of Cristal i will talk for her since she cant speak for her self rite now. Those crimes she commited were back in 1999 she is a wonderful person whoose come a long way. So for you people who like to judge her....all i have to say is u guys need to get a life and get off her TIP..."


Cristal allegedly stole Dirk's credit cards and ran up thousands of dollars of charges. She has a string of charges and convictions for check fraud, assuming a false identity, and credit card fraud. She allegedly ran up over $10,000 in charges at a dental office using a fake drivers license and credit card. It is also alleged she deposited forged checks in a bank account then withdrew the money. Girlfriend was busy. Unfortunately, Dirk was just the latest in a long string of cons. Sources say he bought her a $250,ooo engagement ring. Dirk is said to be distraught over the developments.
