They Should Do This On American Idol

Six women were arrested and charged with assault for allegedly attacking another woman due to her poor karaoke performance, according to officials at the Stamford Police Department.

The suspects, ranging in age from 19-20, were arrested Sept. 23 after fleeing Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery Cafe in Stamford, Connecticut, where they are said to have attacked the woman.

The alleged victim, 25-year-old Leidy Alcantara, was singing "A Dios Le Pido" by Colombian singer Juanes when the suspects started accosting her.
"I was singing the song in Spanish, and some girl said I was very annoying," Alcantara told the New York Daily News.

The victim shot back something to the effect of, 'If you don't like it, you can leave,' which the girls took exception to, Stamford police spokesman Lt. Sean Cooney told the Stamford Times. The altercation occurred after the exchange of comments, according to Cooney. The women punched, kicked and pulled Alcantra's hair, according to police.

The six women then left the bar and were later identified by eyewitnesses, according to police. They were later arrrested and charged with assault, conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace. They were released on $5000 bond and are scheduled to face a judge on Oct. 5.

Ashanti should ask the Wiz for some stage presence

The New York Times’ Charles Isherwood calling the show, “busily energetic yet full of dead ends." He described Ashanti as “a pretty place-holder, an empty vessel in a sparkly dress”.

Linda Winer of Newsday thought both Ashanti's singing and acting stunk. “Ashanti proves not be a natural theater actor, and, even more surprising, her silvery voice sounds thin and bland against the pros.”

The Associate Press’ Peter Santilli was a lone voice of praise for the singer. He called the musical a “lavish, well-balanced production...[Ashanti has]...wide-eyed charm and a can’t-miss voice, Ashanti makes the role her own while distinguishing herself among a skilled troupe of singers and dancers.”

I Blame T-Pain

Mariah Carey's newly-released single "Obsessed" features the eight-octave ranged chanteuse singing with a *VOCODER*. When you have a voice like that, why on earth mask it with a machine? That type of trickery should be reserved for one's colleagues like JLo and Cassie. I'm also not sure how I feel about the slicked-down hair either, but she looks hot. Her promo shots show absolutely no signs of the thickness and rolls that have surfaced recently on the net. Mariah knows how to get right when it counts. Click here to listen.
