The Dream announced his new position as Executive Vice President of Island Deaf Jam Records Wednesday through his Twitter page. The 27-year old singer, songwriter, and producer sent out a series of Tweets late that evening saying: “I wanna Thank everyone at Island Records/DefJam for their faith in me and making me Executive Vice President of Island Records. Thank you to my team..etc, my mama, my manager-what's his name, that cuban girl, the little short ugly gnome that hung with Janet Jackson who quit, LA Reid, Pebbles, etc... "

The Dream takes over for RadioKilla who takes over for Chris Hicks who took over for Shakir Stewart who committed suicide in Atlanta last year. The Dream's third album "Love King" which he says will be his last (because three albums of shit that sounds identical is enough) , is due for release later this year.

All that laying in Kanye's lap really paid off

Amber has been blogging about her fake humility and the need to use her powers for good and not evil.

A few weeks ago, I told Uncle Russ that I do not want to “waste my celebrity,” as my celebrity is a gift to me, my family and the world…not only for me to get ahead, but for others as well. So, I am happy to announce that I have officially signed to the Ford Agency and I am moving to NY to pursue my modeling and acting careers! I am going to be taking acting classes in NY and will pursue the dreams that I have had my entire life. Today, I feel really blessed. I can actually look @ this contract and know that I have made some progress. Proof that when you work hard, good things do happen. I know it is just a piece of paper, but to me that contract represents millions of opportunities that are now before me. Again, it is not just to help me, but so I can make a greater impact around the world. The world is only what you make it…so when you have great opportunities, use them and make your dreams come true!

This morning he [Russell Simmons} got a call from a troubled Amber, because she was concerned about the rumors that are flying around about her and Cassidy. She has dreams and aspirations that she doesn’t want ruined by innuendo and games played by others. So, one thing she wants to make clear, that Russ believes is true, that she does not know Cassidy…

For the record I was going to use one of her ubiquitous booty shots for the pic, but I found this nice one instead. I decided to give the girl a break. They look so happy they are glowing!

Russell's "Special Friend" Airs You Haters Out

Russell's latest Flavor of the Month (Vanilla) had this to say about y'all:

I have been spending "special time" with Russell for about 4 months and in that time I have learned some subtle things about some in the black community that have surprised me. I must say that while it has been a bit of a challenge for me, it has also been a wonderful learning experience. I realize that in this day of Obama and change that there is still a tremendous amount of poverty, suffering and pain in the black community, and for that I am deeply sorry.

But, I have to say the angry responses to those realities are sometimes misdirected....Just for the record, I am nobody’s white b*tch, gold digger or fame chaser. Nor am I any of the other mean things I have been called lately. I don't need anything from anybody, I come from a good family and I'm a young independent "successful" model making my way in NYC. Finally, I just wanna say that Russell has been a great "special" friend and I'm sure as sh*t not giving him up cause some in America object to our friendship. Russ Was Rushed To The Hospital

Russell Simmons remains hospitalized in New York's Mount Sinai Hospital suffering from painful swelling in his hand. He has been Tweeting about his ordeal:

“Damn. This shi. Hurts. I wanna cut my arm off, it would hurt less. Had a close call, life is short. No one knows…had a close. Love life today, tomorrow is not promised.”

There is no word about which bedside shifts his various girlfriends took.
