Def Jam Almost Dropped Amerie
In the latest issue of Billboard, Amerie announced the release of her Def Jam debut, "In Love & War," this August. Her first single, "Why R U," will drop June 15th. Supposedly Def Jam label head Antonio "L.A." Reid reconsidered his plan to drop Amerie from the label after hearing that single, so check it out. Meanwhile, make do with "1 Thing".

...LA always pulls some doo-doo like that with his artists...once he doesn't want to promote you anymore because his own writers couldn't write you a hit, you're history.I bet he put more promotional support behind his daughter's sweet 16 party than Amerie.....BTW he just signed BB-face to a label deal, so get ready to hear about a boatload of artists going bankrupt soon....

ReplyDeletei loved her first cd. i didn't check the second cd out but i heard it wasn't that good. they didn't even promote the last cd. good luck on this one.
