Pepsico Inc. is dropping sports drink named after Woods from its lineup, but the move is due to sales and not connected with the storm of publicity over the golfer's car accident and revelations of alleged extramarital affairs.
The sports drink, called Gatorade Tiger Focus, is being dropped as part of a broader overhaul of the Gatorade brand, whose sales have slipped this year, according to beverage industry publication Beverage Digest. In fact, no commercials at all have run with Tiger Woods in them since a Gillette ad on November 29th.
