The Nevada Supreme Court isn't going to let O.J. Simpson out of prison while he appeals his conviction in a gunpoint hotel room heist.

A three-judge panel issued orders Friday concluding that Simpson didn't meet the "heavy burden" required to be allowed to post bail.

The justices noted that a jury found Simpson guilty of "serious, nonprobationable, violent offenses" with firearms involved. They also cited a Clark County District Court judge's finding that he posed a flight risk.

Simpson was convicted of kidnapping and robbing two sports memorabilia dealers in September 2007 and is serving nine to 33 years in prison.

OJ Actually Gets Some of His Things Back From the Las Vegas Hotel Heist

A California judge ordered some memorabilia returned to O.J. Simpson on Tuesday, even as the football Hall of Famer sits in a Nevada prison for stealing it during a hotel room heist, reports the Associated Press. Ending more than a year of legal wrangling, Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg ruled Tuesday to return nine souvenir footballs and a few other items to a lawyer for Simpson nemesis Fred Goldman for auction. Goldman is trying to collect on a $33.5 million civil judgment against Simpson.

But, the judge said Simpson must get the first $6,075 from the auction. Rosenberg said it was possible that figure would not be reached, and then Goldman would get nothing.

Because of the hotel room standoff in September 2007, Simpson was sentenced to nine to 33 years for convictions on armed robbery, kidnapping and other charges. He has applied for release on bond while he appeals.

OJ may get to taste freedom

The Nevada Supreme Court justices are weighing whether or not O.J. Simpson and his accomplices should be allowed to post bond while their attorneys appeal his conviction on on charges of kidnapping and armed robbery as well as 10 other charges, acts committed while he was attempting to recover his own memorabilia. Simpson's lawyers contend he did not receive a fair trial. Personally, I question whether or not he would be a flight risk if released. He would be a fool to stay. He is a marked man.

Nevada Supreme Court Considers Simpson Appeal

A trio of Nevada Supreme Court justices focused Monday on whether O.J. Simpson received a fair trial in a gunpoint hotel room heist and whether the case was so unique that he should be freed from prison while his appeal is considered.

"This is post-conviction. That's what concerns me," Justice Michael Cherry declared during rare oral arguments by lawyers about whether the former football star should be allowed to post bond while his appeal is pending. Cherry, the chairman of the three-judge panel considering the bond request, didn't say how long he and the justices might take to decide. It appeared unlikely a ruling would come before an Aug. 12 deadline for Clark County District Attorney to file a written answer to Simpson's appeal.

It is unusual for the Nevada Supreme Court, the state's only appeals court, to hear oral arguments about bond, and it would be even more unusual for Simpson to be released. The justices are weighing whether Simpson might flee, whether he poses a danger to the community, and if they have a good chance of winning their appeals.

O.J.'s girlfriend is writing a tell all

O.J. Simpson's ex-girlfriend, Christine Prody, is shopping around a tell all book about her time with him. In My Life With O.J. Simpson, Prody writes about OJ's alleged cruelty to her. She claims he was a jealous, possessive, cocaine user who forced her to have two abortions and constantly compared her to his dead ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson. Prody met O.J. while passing in front of his mansion. She moved in with O.J., quit her job, and depended upon him emotionally and financially. Prody claims O.J. isolated her from her family telling them she was drunk or high, and told her she was she was fat and ugly and not as smart as Nicole. She says he once kicked her out of the car at 11 o'clock at night forcing her to walk 12 miles in high heels.

You might recall, Christine Prody was hospitalized for 10 days in February 2008 after "hitting her head during a fall at a Miami gas station."
