When the President calls you out you know it's that ass!
Obama aired out the Cambridge Police Department last night at the end of his healthcare speech:
"I think it's fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry; No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, No. 3 ... that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately."
The incident, Obama said, shows "how race remains a factor in this society."
I think it's safe to say there will be some openings at the police department soon.

(stands Up Claps) It's about time we had someone to address issues like this.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was funny he addressed this. It needed to be said because the police were trying to push the whole incident under the rug. Barack wasn't having that. He and Gates are friends.
ReplyDeleteThose cops know they were being racist. The man already proved he lived in the house. They should have left him alone after that. They wanted to take him in because they don't think he had any business living in that neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteIf this had happened to Mo Williams down the block Obama wouldn't care. He is only speaking out because Gates is part of the elite. Police mistreat black men every day in America.
ReplyDeleteObama has kind of backed off calling the PD stupid. I think he believed Gates because he is a friend but Gates seems like he might have flown off the handle and jumped to calling racism prematurely. That caused the situation to escalate.
ReplyDeleteThis might come back to bite Obama in the butt. He should have stayed out of it.
