Mary J. Blige on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (06-12-09)



I eagerly awaited Mary's Friday night appearance on June 12th, mostly because I thought she was going to perform. Mary came out and chatted for a while promoting her new fragrance and her Tyler Perry movie, "I Can Do Bad All By Myself." Mary did not perform. I have no idea whose idea this was, but singing is her strong suit. It would have been beyond cool to hear a MJB jam session with The Roots.

    Mary can sing her ass off but she is NOT very articulate. You can see the anxiety on Fallon's face.

    Cut Mary some slack. She has overcome a lot in life.
